Properties ● Corrosion Resistance: Stainless Steel > Chrome Alloy Steel > High Carbon Steel.
●
Hardenability:
The above
high carbon steel are hardenable by heat
treatment upto the core. These
are generally through hardened upto 58-63 HRC (Rockwell C). ● Magnetism: These are fully magnetic. ●
Passivation:
Carbon steel balls are prone to atmospheric oxidation and
rusting in corrosive or humid environment. |
Advantages For better performance and life in most of the above applications we manufacture steel ball (round / spherical) in high carbon steel (carbon upto 0.85%) instead of low or medium carbon steel. They are thorough hardened (upto the core) to 58-63 HRc instead of just case hardened or carburized. Such high carbon steel balls have better wear and load resistance than low or medium carbon steel balls. Technocon offers hardened upto the core, high carbon steel ball in AISI 1085, 1080, 1065, 1060, C85, C80, C65, C60 carbon steels. Carbon steel balls provide substantial cost savings for many applications. They also prove to be an inexpensive option for trial runs and pilot lots. |
